Securing the Future: Arubana founder completes Virtual OECS Training and secures spot in prestigious Silicon Valley startup program.

Arubana's Leeza Charles Secures Spot in Prestigious Draper Hero Training Program

Arubana is thrilled to announce that Leeza Charles, our dedicated founder, has successfully completed the second virtual cohort of the OECS Global Startup Hub's Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship program. This accomplishment has earned her a coveted place in the Draper Hero Training Program, scheduled to take place in Silicon Valley from June 24th to July 26th, 2024.

About the OECS Global Startup Hub

The OECS Global Startup Hub is an initiative designed to support and scale up innovative startups from the OECS region. The program starts with a two-week online accelerator training, focusing on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship through the Draper methodology. Out of the initial cohort, the top entrepreneurs are selected to attend the Draper University Hero Training Program in San Mateo, California.

Virtual Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship Program

During the virtual training, participants delved into the core principles of entrepreneurship. The curriculum included brainstorming sessions, structuring and prototyping applications, and mastering the art of pitching and selling ideas. This comprehensive training equipped participants with essential skills and knowledge to advance their startup ventures.

During the program, Leeza was part of Team Catalyst, which successfully created a working prototype for an A.I. powered ChatGPT plug-in called Eduf.AI (pronounced "edufy") within a 48-hour hard deadline. This chatbot creates a customizable "study buddy" that adapts to the needs and learning style of the users to provide real time learning support.

The Catalyst team members were:

Lanval O'Garro: Software Engineer / Developer

Tamu Browne: Product Manager

Leeza Charles: Marketing Manager

Huldah Deborah: Financial Analyst

“We are immensely proud of the work and product we created and look forward to putting this experience to good use” Leeza.
